Building Bridges
TWB works to build bridges people-to-people. Here's how you can participate.
International Country Contacts
TWB maintains an international database of individual theatre artists who have volunteered to be a TWB Country Contact for countries where they live, have worked and/or have personal contacts. A Country Contact can share information about theatre resources in a particular country, make introductions and generally help point other artists in the right direction.
To volunteer: If you have worked extensively in your home country, or in a foreign country, and believe that you would be able to provide helpful information and/or connections to traveling artists, please register on the TWB website, and then enter information on your profile page (Go to My Account, click on the Edit tab, and edit your TWB Info.) You are not required to help or respond to any individual contacts - but in signing up you are indicating your willingness to be involved.
To find contacts: If you are an international artist traveling to another country and would like to meet other theatre artists while you are there and gather information before your trip, go to the Country Contact list and select the country you will be visiting. If people have registered to be contacts for that country, you will be able to see a profile of these people, and use the individual contact form to reach them. Please note that TWB Country Contacts are welcome, but not required, to respond to inquiries.
For additional information on international theatre, please visit the website for the International Theatre Institute (ITI) www.iti-worldwide.org.
U.S.A. State Contacts
TWB has developed a network of individual theatre artists who have volunteered as TWB US Contacts to welcome and provide hospitality to international theatre artists visiting the United States.
To find US contacts: If you are an international artist traveling to the United States and would like to meet other theatre artists while you are here, go to the US contact list and search for the state you will be visiting. If people have registered to be contacts for that country, you will be able to see a profile of these people, and use the individual contact form to reach them. Please note that TWB US Contacts are welcome, but not required, to respond to inquiries.
A TWB US Contact might provide services such as:
- Offer hospitality by meeting with visiting artists, and/or inviting them for coffee, drinks or a meal
- Make introductions, provide information, and help visiting artists obtain free theatre tickets
- When possible and appropriate, host informal gatherings/parties for visiting artists so they can meet other artists in your community
- A TWB US Contact is a self-apointed volunteer, and does not provide housing or assist with such things as funding, travel, visa and housing arrangements
For more information, please visit the website for the US Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI).

We aren't the only ones working to connect artists.
